Head of E-Commerce EMEA at Acer Europe
Placido Faranda is the Head of E-Commerce EMEA at Acer Europe, where he leads the E-commerce team and business operations for 12 countries. He gained 11 years of hands-on experience in online and multi-channel marketing across the EMEA region. Born in Catania in 1978, Placido graduated in Business Communication from the University of Salerno. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Electronic Media and Internet Marketing from the University of Paris 8, where he also enrolled for PhD research in Media Economy. He started his career in France working for leading advertising agencies, such as DDB and Fullsix, supporting the online strategy of French Telcos and other large accounts, such as SFR, Bouygues, Nivea, Coca-Cola, and Galeries Lafayettes among others. He later returned back to Italy to lead the Eastern European development of the Italian mobile service provider Dada Net, formerly Buongiorno. In 2008 he joined Vodafone Italy, managing the creation, development, and launch of company’s B2B e-commerce business. In 2010 under his management, the Vodafone Business Store was awarded Best Project Vodafone Online Services for the year.
